Inpatient PTSD Treatment Centers near Pennsylvania

Trauma disorders like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are common. In fact, about 6 percent of the United States population will meet the criteria for PTSD at some point. While prevalent, PTSD is not easy to live with. For many people with PTSD, symptoms affect all or nearly all parts of life, such as interpersonal relationships, physical health, and work or school. Proper treatment can be transformative, helping you take the weight of PTSD symptoms off of your shoulders. Elevation Behavioral Health is proud to service Pennsylvania residents looking for inpatient PTSD treatment centers in Pennsylvania. Although we are in California, we accept Pennsylvania insurance plans and will pay for your or your loved one’s travel to our facility.

Please call Elevation Behavioral Health to verify your insurance benefits or to inquire about transportation assistance. Insurance checks are 100% commitment-free and should take a few minutes or less. You are also welcome to check on your insurance benefits using the insurance verification form on our website, located under the admissions tab.

How We Can Help

PTSD Treatment Programs at Elevation Behavioral Health

Diagnostic assessments are provided as part of the admissions process at Elevation Behavioral Health. Your intake assessment will help us to get to know you better and work with you to create a customized treatment plan that integrates a combination of therapies tailored to fit your unique needs and circumstances as a client. With it in mind that every client will be treated as the unique individual they are, here’s a little bit about what you can expect in PTSD treatment at Elevation Behavioral Health.

If you need help arranging time off work or navigating resources like FMLA for inpatient post-traumatic stress disorder treatment, our team will help.

Most clients looking for inpatient PTSD treatment centers near Pennsylvania who opt to attend treatment with us will start with one of our inpatient programs. Our primary mental health residential inpatient treatment program is for those with a mental health condition, like PTSD, who do not experience co-occurring substance use disorders. In the primary residential mental health program for trauma and PTSD at our 5-star treatment center, providers use a set of trauma therapies geared toward addressing PTSD. Treatments used for clients with PTSD at Elevation Behavioral Health may include but aren’t limited to the following.

  • Behavioral therapies, like trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Family therapy and involvement.
  • Mindfulness meditation and yoga.
  • Brain spotting.
  • Nutrition counseling.
  • Recreation.

Clients at our luxury facility benefit from the comfortable, sophisticated housing and amenities we provide. We offer chef-prepared meals, a pool, fitness equipment, a spa, and spacious bedrooms, among other special features. All buildings owned by Elevation Behavioral Health were built with the same goal–to ensure that clients feel at home, are well-cared for, and have all of the resources they need to create a bright future.

Trauma and PTSD are known risk factors for substance use disorders. Our dual-diagnosis treatment program is structured to address substance abuse and common comorbid conditions, such as PTSD. For people living with multiple conditions, a dual-diagnosis (or integrated) approach to treatment has been shown to lead to positive outcomes, such as lowered rates of substance use, increased quality of life, higher employment rates, and symptom improvements in both disorders.

Similarly, if you are a person with both PTSD and another non-substance-related mental health concern, we can help. We know that mental health is complex, and it is very common for clients to come in with multiple concerns to address. In addition to PTSD and addiction, we have providers who work with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and other conditions.

We help Pennsylvania residents plan for their return home after inpatient PTSD treatment by creating an aftercare plan. For you, this could include referring you to an outpatient program, discussing your return to work or school in PA, discussing the continuation of mental health medications, transitional housing for mental health, or anything else that makes the most sense for your personal healing journey.

Elevation Behavioral Health offers multiple outpatient treatment programs, which may be helpful for those who want to continue care with us. While we understand that it won’t be possible for every client, we recommend a 90-day treatment trajectory, including inpatient care followed by an outpatient program at Elevation Behavioral Health. If you’d like to learn about our in-person outpatient program or virtual mental health outpatient program, please let our team know. We’re happy to help!

Developing a Greater Understanding of PTSD

Although not everyone with past trauma develops PTSD, the condition can stem from any traumatic event. For example, severe physical or mental illness affecting you or someone you care about, the sudden loss of a loved one, sexual assault, all types of abuse, domestic violence, a car accident, natural disasters, war, and other adverse experiences can all lead to the development of PTSD. Alongside other criteria for PTSD, those with the disorder will display:

  • A minimum of one re-experiencing symptom, which may include flashbacks, distressing thoughts, physical signs of stress, or recurring dreams and memories that are related to the traumatic event.
  • A minimum of one avoidance symptom, which may include avoiding internal thoughts or feelings related to the traumatic event or staying away from external reminders (places, people, things, situations, and objects) of the event.
  • A minimum of two arousal and reactivity symptoms, such as irritability (or anger/angry outbursts), being startled more easily than others, trouble concentrating, difficulty falling or staying asleep, or engaging in risky, reckless, or destructive behavior.
  • A minimum of two mood and cognition symptoms, such as social isolation, loss of interest in previously significant activities, difficulty feeling positive emotions (e.g., happiness, joy, satisfaction), exaggerated feelings of blame toward oneself or others, negative thoughts about oneself or the world, difficulty remembering key features of the event, or ongoing negative emotions, like anger, fear, guilt, sadness, and shame.

Some of our clients have what is called complex post-traumatic disorder, or C-PTSD, which can develop following repeated or ongoing trauma (e.g., prolonged abuse or neglect) and may come with additional or more severe symptoms. We are versed in addressing both PTSD and C-PTSD.
