PTSD Treatment in Massachusetts

Why Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment Matters

Massachusetts residents face high rates of mental distress, revealing a serious need for mental health care in the area overall. When it comes to PTSD specifically, statistics say that around 6.8 percent of United States adults (total) will experience PTSD at some point in their lives.

As for why post-traumatic stress disorder treatment matters, the truth is that the condition can influence every part of your life. Untreated PTSD has the potential to harm your physical health, work, hobbies, and even your friendships or familial and romantic relationships.

PTSD has a way of making you feel unsafe when you are not, leading to symptoms like avoidance, hypervigilance, changes in mood, social isolation and withdrawal, trouble sleeping, and intense anxiety. If the condition goes untreated, symptoms of PTSD can worsen over time.

However, it does not have to be that way. You can achieve a more regulated state. Getting PTSD treatment at our center can help Massachusetts residents reduce or eliminate symptoms of PTSD and improve their quality of life.

Causes of PTSD

What are the causes of PTSD? You can develop PTSD after experiencing any traumatic event, including but not limited to the following.

  • Domestic violence or intimate partner violence (IPV).
  • Serious illness affecting yourself or a close loved one.
  • Childhood neglect or abuse.
  • Natural disasters.
  • Sexual assault.
  • Car accidents.
  • War.

Elevation Behavioral Health works with all PTSD cases, regardless of the cause. Some people seeking PTSD treatment in Massachusetts will have what’s called complex PTSD–a condition caused by ongoing or repeated trauma–which we also treat.

Our team of experts is here to help you.

Comprehensive Support

What to Expect in PTSD Treatment Near Massachusetts at Elevation Behavioral Health

Elevation Behavioral Health uses a unique 90-day approach. First, you or your loved one will attend our residential inpatient program. Then, clients step down to outpatient or virtual care for continued treatment. This approach enables us to provide excellent service with lasting positive outcomes for clients in Massachusetts and surrounding areas. With that in mind, here’s what to expect in PTSD treatment near Massachusetts at Elevation Behavioral Health. Please call our admissions line if you have any questions.

Residential treatment for PTSD at Elevation Behavioral Health is immersive, providing 24/7 access to staff and daily therapy. Clients in the primary mental health residential treatment program at Elevation Behavioral Health follow a full-day treatment schedule catered to their needs. You or your loved one in residential treatment for PTSD at our center will participate in groups, individual therapy sessions, and other activities, such as group outings.

Our residential program includes room and board at our luxury center. That way, you or your loved one from Massachusetts will have a safe, comfortable living space at Elevation Behavioral Health while in treatment. The rooms at our homes in California are spacious, with a wide array of sophisticated amenities for clients to enjoy.

It is essential to have ongoing care after residential treatment. We offer in-person and virtual outpatient programs that provide continued care for those graduating from our residential mental health program. In-person outpatient PTSD treatment at Elevation Behavioral Health involves attending therapy sessions during the day, but unlike inpatient treatment, you can return home or to transitional housing at night. Many clients are able to return to work while in outpatient treatment.

The majority of residents in Massachusetts will maintain their care through our virtual mental health outpatient program after completing residential treatment. Similar to traditional in-person outpatient care, our virtual mental health outpatient program is designed to assist you in successfully transitioning out of inpatient mental health treatment with professional support. However, clients participating in our virtual mental health outpatient program engage in sessions via video calls instead of in-person meetings.

Once residential treatment concludes, some of our clients find it helpful to use transitional housing for mental health support. Living in transitional housing for mental health allows you to be part of a community of individuals also working through mental health challenges such as PTSD. This type of housing might offer more structure than your current living situation. Additionally, it can simplify the process of commuting to treatment if you decide to participate in an outpatient program away from your home. Elevation Behavioral Health can assist you in obtaining a transitional housing placement if necessary.
