Residential Treatment Centers For Depression Near Pennsylvania

Depression is one of the most common mental health conditions, both in Pennsylvania and across the United States. In February 2021, 39.8 percent of adults in Pennsylvania reported symptoms of anxiety or depression, but over a quarter of those individuals did not get help. Elevation Behavioral Health is here to help individuals and families facing depressive disorders bridge the gap. Getting to a better place with depression is possible–including depression that has been resistant to treatment in the past–and immersive, customized treatment with our close-knit team will help you find solutions.

First, let’s talk about insurance coverage and programs for PA residents seeking depression treatment at Elevation Behavioral Health. Then, we’ll discuss the signs and symptoms of depression so that you can better identify them in yourself or someone you care about and what to expect at our high-end facility.

PAYING FOR TREATMENT

Finding Residential Treatment Centers for Depression Near Pennsylvania That Accept Insurance

Pennsylvanians face a number of different cost-related barriers when looking for depression treatment. For example, you may have had trouble finding a treatment center that accepts your insurance plan. While we are in California, we accept Pennsylvania insurance plans and can also cover travel costs for individuals coming to and from treatment. Please call Elevation Behavioral Health to verify your insurance coverage or to learn more about getting to our mental health treatment center from Pennsylvania.

How Residential Treatment Centers for Depression Near Pennsylvania Help People Overcome Their Symptoms

There are multiple risk factors for depression, and everyone with depression will benefit most from a different combination of treatments for depressive disorders. Residential inpatient treatment gives you the time necessary to work through any underlying causes or concerns that may contribute to or worsen depression symptoms. It lets you focus on your recovery without having to spend a significant amount of time on other responsibilities. With that in mind, here are the main programs you or your loved one from Pennsylvania may be interested in at our facility.

If you or your loved one need help planning for time off of work or college classes for inpatient depression treatment, just let us know. Our staff members can help you navigate FMLA and related resources.

Our primary mental health residential program focuses on treating depression that does not co-occur with substance addiction. In this program, we will target depression symptoms with a personalized blend of evidence-based and supportive holistic treatments. Your treatment schedule will be very structured at this care level. Groups are held daily, and you will also participate in frequent individual therapy sessions.

We offer the most up-to-date depression treatments, including but not limited to the following.

  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).
  • Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).
  • Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
  • Brain spotting.
  • Nutrition counseling.
  • Mindfulness meditation and yoga.
  • Body movement.
  • Neurofeedback.
  • Family therapy.

Some types of therapy can be intense, and it can be best to go through them at a time when you are able to focus 100% on your recovery, like in residential mental health treatment at Elevation Behavioral Health. Medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), and alternatives may be combined with therapy. We will collaborate with you to create habits, routines, and a medley of treatments that work.

People with depression are more likely to experience substance abuse compared to those without a mood disorder. If you have both a mental health condition like depression and a substance use disorder, our dual-diagnosis residential treatment program is an ideal solution. Rather than address depression as a standalone issue, our dual-diagnosis program treats both substance abuse and mental health. That way, concerns such as self-medicating with substances can be addressed. Similarly, if you have another mental health condition that is not depression (e.g., anxiety or trauma disorders), we’ll be able to help you. So many things set Elevation Behavioral Health apart from other treatment centers, and this is one of them.

Elevation Behavioral Health offers several outpatient treatment services in addition to our residential mental health and dual-diagnosis programs. Whether you attend Elevation Behavioral Health or other residential treatment centers for depression near Pennsylvania, having an aftercare plan is important. Healing does not end after an inpatient stay, and it can be crucial to have continued support as you transition back into everyday life. We’ll help you make an aftercare plan, whether that involves attending an in-person outpatient program (at our center or back home in PA), our virtual mental health outpatient program, or something else. For example, transitional mental health housing, continued medication management, and private-practice therapy.

What To Look For

Signs and Symptoms of Depression (Depressive Episodes)

Everyone experiences depression differently, but there are signs you can look out for. During a depressive episode, you may notice a range of symptoms, including but not limited to the following:

  • Feelings of guilt, shame, or hopelessness.
  • Slowed psychomotor activity or restlessness.
  • A down, low, or depressed mood.
  • Emotional numbness or apathy.
  • Increased agitation or irritability.
  • Excessive crying
  • Increased or decreased appetite.
  • Thoughts of suicide.
  • Isolating yourself from others.
  • Insomnia or hypersomnia.
  • Lack of motivation.

There are different types of depressive disorders, which could impact how you experience depression. For example, if you have major depressive disorder (MDD), you might experience the symptoms above for periods lasting at least two weeks. If you have persistent depressive disorder (PDD), your symptoms could be lower-level but long-lasting. Or, those with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) may experience severe bouts of depression and related symptoms for 1-2 weeks before menstrual periods.
